Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new accessories. They can also boost the base stats of the item or provide additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Usually items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while items with strong bases such as eth titans aren't affected significantly in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons, armor and tools for gathering, offering an attribute bonus or additional impact when the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, thrown away by enemies or as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be at a certain level before they can be upgraded.
In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the user must choose it and click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade statistics will be and also the material or component needed to make that happen.
There are three types of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be put on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions, which can only be placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but provide larger bonuses and cannot be used in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding a Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades to gather tools when a player swaps one glyph with another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, except for inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.

Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important changes from earlier versions. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each item can be upgraded a certain number of times before it's "leveled out." The cost of upgrading is increased with each level, but the required materials don't increase as much. This lets players focus their efforts on a couple of essential items and maximize their impact rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across multiple items.
Once an item has been finished being leveled in this way, it is able to receive an upgrade set of components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Power and it will reset to zero in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade is successful.
Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level, it can receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The amount of affixes available will depend on the item's class. For instance the rare or exclusive weapon with a base that is normal will only have two affixes to choose from and legendary armors can have up to eight affixes available for it.
Each upgrade process will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item at its current level, and in which slot it is in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item doesn't attain its maximum level, the NPC grants players the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a new set or upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours and cost the same amount of material. However it has a lower rate of success.
To measure the height of a structure engineers use a level to compare the measurement against a known reference point like a benchmark, or the elevation of the ground. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling refers to the process of changing an item's upgrade components. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can significantly increase the strength of an item and damage as well as other characteristics. You can do this via the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be used sparingly.
Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items come with a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item determines the level of filling.
In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you would be able to get the stats that were important most to your build often than other. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This can be either good or bad, depending on what you're looking to get from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special bonus that increases the item's power by a specific percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to the standard affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the higher your chance of obtaining an exclusive bonus.
The game also comes with number sets that grant an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an item. This is a great method to give the character more power without spending a lot of money.
Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment particularly in the initial stages. Rerolling is a method to gain a stronger character faster, allowing players to advance in the game and achieve higher levels.
enhance gear are collections that can be organized in different ways. They can be of various sizes, have no elements at all or contain a single element. They are useful for organizing data or separating information. They are also useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways in terms of size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an extensive selection of set items that can be upgraded. Some items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Armor sets that provide high defense or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you own many armor or weapons already.
Some set items are upgraded to meet their unique procs, which can be particularly beneficial in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement was increased as well).
Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them into the same level with their tiers. For instance, the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower level items can improve their defense, and make them more competitive when it comes to damage.
To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button in the screen for their character. This will display the item's characteristics, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also check the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs. This will bring about a significant improvement in their stats. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade, since its defense value will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
